Overview
Sa Dec is a Mekong Delta town known for enormous flower nurseries, preserved colonial architecture and literary fame as the setting of Marguerite Duras's The Lover.
What to Do
- Flower nurseries — wander through hectares of orchids, roses and tropical blooms
- Huong Pagoda — grand Chinese-style temple in the market district
- The Lover's House — mansion of Huynh Thuy Le, Duras's Vietnamese lover, now a museum
- Sa Dec market — lively river market selling flowers and local specialties
Best Time to Visit
November to April. Visit before Tet when the flower trade peaks.

Bus from Can Tho (1 hr) or Ho Chi Minh City (3 hrs).
